Bound grouping of Newspapers, The Press (Philadelphia) May 1, 1861 through June 26, 1861 [47] 4-page isses, consecutive with only one issue missing, VG. The is a large format newspaper with ample reports of the early war days. The issues have not been read for detail, but in a quick scan there are several Lincoln proclamations, Confederate government measures including a declaration of war, the assassination of Ellsworth is noted, several early skirmished including Acquia Creek. Military and Political events fill these issues. Also, on nearly each issue is a nice Flag Graphic.
