Broadside, 10” x 13-1/2,” November 10th, 1828, published by the Baltimore Republican as a single sheet Extra, VG. “The Jackson Central Committee of Maryland take pleasure in announcing ....” the committee is led by Roger B. Taney. Very graphic use of type faces, uses four variation to create separate headline announcements, "ALL HAIL NEW YORK," with letters indicating that Jackson has thirteen of its nineteen electoral votes; "ALL HAIL, MAINE," with news that Jackson is leading in the state; "WELL DONE, NEW- HAMPSHIRE," with returns showing Jackson in the lead there; and "ALL HAIL, OHIO," announcing that Jackson is ahead there by five thousand votes. The presidential election of 1828 was held on different days in the different states between October 31 and November 5. Voters in the northern states supported John Quincy Adams. Andrew Jackson won the South. When the electoral votes were counted, Andrew Jackson received 178. President Adams received only 83.
