Smith," unknown regiment, 4pp., 8vo, Belmont, Sumter Co., Alabama, September 4, 1861, to his wife, n.p., reading, in part: "…My brother said he had lost his little boy and his wife has another one. He has named him Jefferson Davis. Thare will be a minny one by that name…We have no news from the war. Thare has been some more prisners brought to Richmond lately…" Very good condition.
