Government retained manuscript document signed by Mississippi's Quartermaster General "A. M. Nash (?)" under Governor Pettus, one page, 4to, Jackson, Mississippi, May 1, 1862, ordering "…change several car loads of tools - belonging to the Mechanic shop of Messrs A W Paxton & Co - of Vicksburg - which he is instructed to take on to Columbus Miss…" Confederate ordnance depots had been established at Corinth and Columbus. Stains, good condition.
