A Plantation Scene, in South Carolina, from a series published by S. T. Souder of Charleston, the image is on an early yellow mount and depicts family groups in front of white-washed cabins, the verso label reads, in part: "This picture represents the Negro Quarters on a Plantation, as taken in 1860. It is a true picture of life on a well organized Plantation in South Carolina…The task of the industrious and provident slave was often finished by mid-day…" Corner bumps, else very good.
