Music Sheet, “ The Sour Apple Tree Ballad by J.W. Turner,” Boston, 1865, 6pp., some minor edge repairs, disbound, else VG. The illustrated cover depicts President Davis running beneath an apple tree. Davis, dressed in a skirt and bonnet, is carrying a dagger in one hand and a sack of gold in the other. from the apple tree branch is hanging a noose. The lyrics are caustic, in part “The Yankee boys have caught him, The traitor old Jeff D!, I wonder if they'll hang him, On the "Sour Apple Tree!"
