Vandegraaff, Adjutant, 31st Mississippi Infantry, resident of Gainesville, Alabama, 2pp., 4to, August 22, 1862, bequeaths two child slaves to his mother while earmarking cash for several relatives…plus; Manuscript accounting of Lt. Vandegraaff's estate by executor A. S. Vandegraaff, , 4pp. 4to, 1865 - 1867. Lt. William Vandegraaf would suffer a heroic death at Peachtree Creek on July 26, 1864 while trying to carry the regimental colors forward after two flag bearers had already been killed. Both documents in very fine condition.
