Booklet, PROCLAMATION OF EMANCIPATION BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, JANUARY 1st, 1863, 8pp., 3-¼" x 2-¼", paper wraps, the front cover derisively carrying an excerpt from Alexander Stephens's notorious "Cornerstone Speech" in which the diminutive Georgian claimed that slavery is a cornerstone of the Confederacy. Fine condition.
