Wonderful 5-3/4" x 9-1/2" campaign handout, published by James D. Gay, 1864, in Pennsylvania. The piece is titled "Gen. Grant's Boys". The graphic woodcut image pictures a speaker stating "Grant's Beverage Is Meade". This was referring to Grant directing General Meade to engage with Confederate General Robert E. Lee in May - June of 1864. Below there is a campaign poem promoting Lincoln for re-election, reading in part: "Our soldiers they will take a part in the next November fight....And cast their votes for Lincoln and put the rebellion down....Then shouts for Abe and Freedom".... And much more. One of the best Lincoln campaign handouts we have seen in sometime.
