Civilian war-date letter signed "A C Pratt," Providence (Rhode Island?), one page, 4to, May 19, 1846, to his brother, reading, in part, "…There is a great excitement about war here and some of the Providence Boys have gone to Texas. David Kingsley, Tom Greg & Charley Blodgill have all gone. I rather guess Old Polk will find it a bitter pill for him…" Very good condition
