Autograph Letter Signed, “Augustus Runyon” 5th New York Cavalry, 3p. octavo, “UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL” stationary, December 3, 1861, Annapolis, Maryland, and reads in part: “...I have been very sick since I came to Annapolis. I rode 40 miles on horse back and had a very heavy cold...now they think it is the smallpox...We have our horses and saddels...” VG...plus; ALS by Runyon, 3-1/2p. octavo, January 4, 1862, Annapolis, Maryland, in part: “...I am in the Captains tent sitting by the fire the Captain told me to come in and sit by the fire just when I want to and if there is no fire tell one of the darks to build one for me he boils tea for me once in a while...” VG.
