Slave bill of sale, 1pp. folio, Milam County, Texas, December 4, 1856, and states that Conwary P. Barton purchased slaves in the amount of $10,800 of J.S. Ables, Margaret Ables, and James S. Warren, and names the slaves as “John aged 25 years & of black color, Ann 23 years old, copper color, Jo, 22 years old, black, harry 35 years of age black, Armstead 13 years old, yellow, Fanny 36 yers of age, black, Jane 24 years of age, yellow, Run, 12 years old yellow, Wayne 21 years of age, Black color, & Kemp 22 years of age black...” with nice notary seal embossed with the Star of Texas. Very good condition.
