Group of three war-date Confederate Texas slave bills of sale, includes: Slave bill of sale, 1pp. oblong octavo, June 17, 1861, where James Dowell pays Virginia Morgan, $700 for “One Negro Girl by the name of Julia Ann, of dark complexion and about fifteen years old.” Fine condition...plus; Slave bill of sale, 1pp. quarto, January 16, 1864, where James Dowell pays James Sewell $3500 for a “certain negro boy named Peter...age twenty five years old, Dark complexion 5 feet 10 inch high...” Docketing from court records on verso. Very good condition....plus; Slave bill of sale, 1pp. quarto, January 24, 1864, where James Dowell pays W.C. Walker $2000 “for one negro girl & two children, the girl Margaret Henry...about nineteen years of age, Henry three years old, and a child 18 months old...”Very good condition.
