This original document is 1 pp., octavo, May 8, 1890, being the official Fire Adjuster's of "Hudson Lee" building fire. A well known, well documented Charleston, S.C. Slave Trader, "General Agent" and Auctioneer. This Post - Civil War, Post - Emancipation Document shows that he had a major fire in his building, needing an insurance adjustment. This document is folded, with light tone along its folds, well printed with clearly readable manuscript portions. With a color PHOTOCOPY of an earlier "HUDSON LEE" old Business Form is included. This copy of his card reads: "HUTSON LEE, BROKER, Auctioneer & Commission Agent, No. 57 BROAD-ST., CHARLESTON, S.C. - Gives personal and prompt attention to the purchase of Real Estate, Negroes, Bonds, Stocks and Securities of all kinds. ** Orders for Negroes promptly and faithfully executed." Very good condition.
