Book “Pictorial History Forty-Sixth Field Artillery Brigade Army of the United States” 1942, 134pp. folio, with a plethera of photographs of African-American troops that served in World War II. Complete with a separate 10-1/2”x13”, photograph of various privates ID’d by name in the unit. Book is in fine condition, the photograph has some paperloss, else near very good. The 46th Field Artillery Brigade was the first Colored Brigade in American military history. On February 10, 1941, the 46th Field Artillery Brigade came into being. Under the command of Colonel G.H. Pierce, the brigade was activated at Camp Livingston, Louisiana. It consisted of the headquarters battery, the 350th and 351st Regiments of 155mm Howitzers and 353rd Regiment of 155 mm guns.
