Confederate congressional imprint “RESOLUTIONS Adopted by the Staunton Artillery,” 1pp. octavo, February 1, 1865, and reads in part: “...At a meeting of the Staunton Artillery, held at their camp near Fishersville, on the 1st of February, 1865...Lieutenant A.H. Fultz offered the following preamble and resolutions, which were unanimously adopted: We are fighting for our liberty! The despondency talked of does not exist in the army. The same spirit animates us now which inspired us in 1861. We are deteremined never to acquiesce in any accommodation short of the independence of our Confederacy...We know no such word as fail in this contest...We ask our Representatives in Congress to present our humble views, and to pledge us to stand by the glorious South till the last man has shed his last drop of blood...” Fine condition.
