A great pair of war-date CDVs of Corp. Marquis L. Holt (circa the day of their marriage on March 20, 1864). The first image shows Marquis and his recently married bride, Rocene Sherwin 1844-1929, this image is identified on the verso, in period ink: "M. L. Holt & wife." The second image shows Marquis seated in a chair. In both images appears as a corporal and also wears veteran stripes on his lower sleeves (he reenlisted on 2/15/64). As an added touch, Holt sports a regimental numeral 3 and company letter E on his collar. Both images bear no photographer's imprint while the seated image is housed in a period blue with red bordered slip sleeve case. Both near fine with one clip affecting the upper left corner of the wife's CDV.
