War-date Union officer Prisoner of War Autograph Letter Signed by 1st Lt. Tattnall Paulding, Co. L, 6th United States Cavalry, 1pp. oblong octavo, pencil, Libby Prison, November 24, 1863, and reads: “...At last the boat bearing the Confed. Surgeons has arrived & our poor fellows who have so often been disappointed are in a fair way to be off. As I write the Clerk says ‘surgeons get their things ready.’ So I must be brief, I wonder when that order will be give us. Our hope is good I think I am very well & in good spirits...” Near fine condition. Lieutenant Tattnall Paulding, 6th United States Cavlary, is featured in an included article penned by Paul M. Shevchuk entitled “Cut To Pieces” : The Cavalry Fight at Fairfield, Pennsylvania, July 3, 1863.
