A good war-date CDV albumen print mounted on larger period paper mount of JOHN W. GEARY (1819-1873) who was the first mayor of San Francisco, governor of Kansas Territory, Union general and the 16th governor of Pennsylvania. View of him as major general with nice clipped signature below reading, in full: "Jno. W. Geary, Bvt. Maj. Genl.". Mount size measures 4 1/2" x 6". Minor glue stain affecting "J" in signature, else overall VG.
