Complete issue of the Harper’s Weekly, September 24, 1864, 16pp., disbound, VG. With the election nearing, Thomas Nast promotes the Lincoln re-election through this dramatic verticle center spread, “The Blessings of Victory.” In center of the illustration is both Lady Victory with sword in hand and Lady Peace with laurles in hand. this is surrounded by seven vignettes which include “The Traitors” (Lee and Davis in prison, “No More Slavery,” “Freeing the Prisoners of War” .... Also, a front page illustration of John Hunt Morgan with a report of his killing.
