A rare war-date CDV showing a group of Union soldiers guarding four convicted prisoners who are "wearing the barrel" for their crimes. One man wears a placard that reads, "Thief" while two others sport a large "Vagabond" stenciled board. This image was taken at Point Lookout Prison, Maryland and it is possible that some of those in the barrels could be Confederate POWs, but more likely they are fellow guardsmen who failed to adhere to military rules. No photographer's imprint, but Pvt. Stanley Morrow, a former member of the Iron Brigade and assistant to Mathew Brady, is credited with taking this image.
