Lincoln campaign letter, October 26, 1860, Taylorsville, Il., 3pp. Written by Evan Betty to L.M Henderson, with original transmittal cover. Reads in part "....Henry and I was a going to vote for Lincoln. You would not believe it but we have gave up all hopes of Douglas and I say hurrah for Lincoln. You must not think that I am not in earnest for I am. We don't want that Breckenridge to take that chair. So I intend to for for honorable old Abe if I live to the 6 day of November. But still I am a democrat if I do vote for Abe....hurrah hurrah for honest old Abe". A fine conent campaign letter.
