Illustrated Civil War Letterhead and Union Flag Cover, Lot of 2, Fine. Marvelous cartoon letterhead with Winfield Scott as a big dog guarding a rack of ribs (labeled "Washington") and challenging a smaller dog, Jefferson Davis. "Scott" asks "Jeff:" "Why Don't You Take It?" Manuscript letter, 3 pages, integral, from family members, no year. Soiled and toned, but the cartoon is crisp and clean. Also includes a Union flag, red, white and blue printed on left side, above the caption: "'If any one attempts to haul down the American Flag, shoot him on the spot.'ÑJno. A. Dix." Toned and soiled cover, postmarked, with 3¢ stamp.
