August 1, 1862, "Volunteer Enlistment" Paper, Norwich, CT, Very Good. Partly printed document, completed in manuscript, doublesided, 9.8" x 7.75." Certifying that "Harrison E. Bacon," a 26-year-old machinist born in Northbridge, MA, voluntarily enlisted in the Volunteer Regiment of Connecticut for a term of three years. Heavily foxed document, two separation folds repaired with yellowed tape. Chipping along outer edges and penciled notations on verso. Nice print of the Connecticut seal at top. Sold "as is."
