A brass 24mm ring, pierced for suspension, encases two back-to-back ferrotypes, one of which is of Albert Edward, the Prince of Wales (and future King Edward VII), while the other is of Queen Victoria and her consort, Prince Albert. This item celebrates the prince's 1860 visit to Canada and the United States. The construction of the badge is identical to those issued for American presidential candidates that year. Some emulsion loss along the lower portion of Edward Albert's image foes not affect the portrait. Very good condition.
