Military imprint “MANUAL OF BAYONET EXERCISE: PREPARED FOR THE USE OF THE ARMY OF THE UNITED STATES.” By Goerge B. McClellan. Philadelphia, Lippincott & Co., 1855. 106pp. 125cm x 195cm. Very good condition. GIBBONS, Simeon (1833-1862). "Sim" Gibbons, a VMI graduate (1852) and Virginia Militia officer (1859-1860), served as Colonel of Rockingham County's 10th Virginia Volunteer Infantry from April 18, 1861 until he was Killed in Action against the 5th Ohio infantry at McDowell, Virginia on May 8, 1862. Before the war Gibbons was captain of the Valley Guards, a company in the 10th Virginia that had been part of John Brown's guard in Charlestown.
