Autograph Letter Signed, "T. J. Jackson" as "Col. Va. Vols," one page, octavo, "Division Head Quarters," April 30, 1861, to "General Kenton Harper," reading: "If you have received an order from Genl. P. St. George to intercept supplies destined for the enemy Please send it to me." Below Harper dockets the letter: "Reply made to this effect - I had received no orders. I was acting from what I conceived to be the necessities of my position." Shortly before this letter was written, Harper distinguished himself by securing the Harpers Ferry Arsenal for the Confederacy. Creases and light stains, very good.
