A good war-date Confederate manuscript military document, 2pp. legal size folio, issued by command of General Baxton Bragg as commander of the Army of Tennessee, Tullahoma, [Tenn.], Mar. 29, 1863 being General Orders No. 61 in which the court presided over by Col. J. P. Nuckols 4th Kentucky finds that, in part: "…Private James Walter Co. A, 44th Tenn. Regt on the charge of "misbehavior before the enemy"…to be shot to death…at such time and place as the Comdg. General may direct…[and]…Private T. W. Barlow, Carnes' Battery on the charge of "Violation of the 46th Article of War." [sleeping on post]…to be shot to death….the proceedings…have been submitted to the General Comdg are by him approved, but referred to the Dept. with recommendation for pardon…". Scribed, signed and made official by Major John Ingram as AAG on the staff of Brig. Gen. Benjamin Cheatham for Brig. Gen. Preston Smith brigade.
