A complete and authentic issue of Frank Leslie’s Illustrated, March 7, 1863, 16pp., disbound, VG. From the front page, a 2/3 engraved image “Pickets of the First Louisiana ‘Native Guard’ Guarding the New Orleans and Great Western Railroad,” shows three Black soldiers. Then form the interior, a horizontal full page”Revival of the Olds Slave Laws in Louisiana ...” showing Blacks being arrested January 20th. Then from the back page, a political cartoon, "A Queer Recontre," shows a former master confronting his former slave who is now in the Union Army.
