Autograph Letter Signed, Joseph Freeman, 3p. octavo, Washington, D.C., Camp Relief, Scotts 900, March 12, 1863, with cover, it reads in part: “...I am sick of the war, it is likely to last two years yet, and then I am afraid we will have to let the Rebels have their own way. They seem to have all the fighting men on their side...I suppose you know how they went into Fairfax the other day took 100 horses, one General and walked off...” VG. ...plus; ALS, by Joseph Freeman, 1p. quarto, August 11, 1864, with cover, in part: “...the War Department just sent for 80 men to go some where in Virginia 200 men went away two weeks ago...have not returned yet. I suppose you know the Rebels [are] not far from Washington...” About VG. Joseph Freeman was the Saddler Segeant of the 11th New York Cavalary.
