Autograph Letter Signed, H.G.G., 4p. octavo, pencil, Carrolton, Jan 23, 1863, on Burnside lettersheet, and reads in part: “...I have written 32 letters and have not now but 4 in return, so I have got rather tired writing to no purpose....Left Camp Jamiaca on the 28th of Nov...went on baord the Jessey Blue, sailed from N.York ...into Hilton Head...I guess what Col. Jones said about the 50th is coming to pass for we have been tossed and drove round like dogs since we left home...” VG.
