Authentic issue of the Pictorial War Record, July 8, 1882, 8pp., 11-3/4” x 16-1/2,” never bound. A front page full image “Execution of Captain Nathaniel Gordon” shows the convicted slave trader on the end of the rope. Gordon was the only American slave trader to be tried, convicted, and executed "for being engaged in the Slave Trade," under the Piracy Law of 1820.
