Autograph Letter Signed "R. F. Hoke," one page, quarto, Raleigh, NC, January _ 1888, to "Genl Marcus J Wright," reading: "Genl S.D. Ramseur was born at Lincolnton N. C. on the 30th day of May 1837. His middle name was Dodson, and when he was a boy was called "Dod." Ramseur died a major general at age 27 after being mortally wounded at Cedar Creek. Fine condition
