E. & H.T. Anthony, New York backmark, inscribed name on verso, the lower front margin imprinted with 1862 copyright. Only rising to the rank of Brevet Major-General during the course of the war, Pleasanton had effectively commanded Union cavalry at the battles of Brandy Station and Gettysburg. Very good condition.
