Quite rare Stereoview of General Custer and his dog, taken at his headquarters in the field. On the verso it reads "Gen. Custer at his Head Quarters in the field, Army of the Potomac, Va." The image was published by E. & H. T. Anthony, from a negative by Brady & Co., Washington. The view shows Custer sitting in front of a tent, with one of his beloved dogs sitting by his feet. This is an iconic view of the swashbuckling Civil War General. The mount has some light edge wear, else a fine image having excellent tone and detail. This image rarely appears on the market.
