Civil War period albumen photograph, 3-5/8”x3-1/8”, of dead Union soldiers killed at Gettysburg. Mounted to card which entitled “A HOT SPOT AT GETTYSBURG.” with caption “A group of Union dead just as they fell. ‘These poor fellows were all killed by one discharge of canister.’ Canister is a tine can filled with small bullets. It is fired at short range, from a cannon and sweeps everything before it.” Fine condition.
