The colonel is shown in civilian clothing, however is fully identified by a verso inscription. No backmark, 1860s Revenue stamp is present. Newberry was made a brevet brigadier for service at Dinwiddie (VA) Courthouse shortly before Lee's surrender. Very good condition.
