Boston Corbett CDV. Nice CDV of the man who shot John Wilkes Booth! Corbett was one of 26 men from the 16th New York Calvary who pursed John Wilkes Booth and one of the other Conspirators David Herold. Booth and Herold were found at Garretts farm on April 26th by the 16th New York. Herold surrendered, but Booth refused to come out of the Garretts barn, which had been set on fire. Corbett, a Sergeant, was told not to fire upon Booth, but did so anyway, fatally wounding Booth in the neck. Corbett did receive part of the reward for his deed, and then disappeared into obscurity. This CDV shows Corbett in uniform with kepi on table. A little dark, VG.
