June 4, 1863, Union Officer Seeks Allotment Money for a Wagoner's Wife, Lee, MA, Choice Extremely Fine. Autograph Letter Signed, "P. Woodbridge Morgan," Lieutenant, Co. B, 37th Regiment, Massachusetts Volunteers, on embossed paper, 8" x 5", doublesided. Lt. Morgan writes to Major Merrill, "Paymaster U.S.A.," complaining that Mrs. Mary McCann, wife of John McCann of his regiment had not received her allotment money for four months--totaling $32.
