Paul Warfield Tibbets, Jr. was a brigadier general in the United States Air Force, best known as the pilot of the Enola Gay – named for his mother – the first aircraft to drop an atomic bomb in the history of warfare. This group consists of five pieces to include; A copy of the July 25, 1945 authorizing the Hiroshima bombing. The copy is authenticately signed by; “Paul W. Tibbets - Pilot, Enola Gay gang,” “Tom Ferebee Bombadier,” and “Dutch Van Kirk, Navigator.” ... plus, B/W Signed Photo of the mushroom cloud signed by “Paul W. Tibbets - Pilot, Enola Gay,” “Tom Ferebee Bombadier,” and Theodore J Dutch Kirk, Navigator.” ... plus, Similiar B/W Signed Photo signed by “Paul W. Tibbets - Pilot, Enola Gay,” and George R. Caron , Hiroshima.” ... plus, Similiar B/W Signed Photo signed by George R. Caron , Hiroshima.” ... plus, View of the site of the first detonation of the atomic bomb on August 6, 1945 by the B-29 bomber Enola Gay signed by “Paul W. Tibbets - Pilot, Enola Gay,” G(eorge) Marquardt, Pilot #91 Necessary Evil,” and “Charley Sweeny, Pilot “The Great Artist.” Nice grouping.
