Manuscript Court Document Verdict, 8" x 12," 4pp., Erie County, [Pennsylvania], August 10, 1834 announcing the verdict reached by the jurors in the case of a suspected rapist, reading, in part, " ... the grand jurors ... that in the course of a long and careful reexamination of the testimony in these indictments of Rape and the indictment of Riot found and return ... to the court .. we have become satisfied that the following persons are also guilty of a wicked and felonious rape upon the body of Nancy Burns viz Wm Harper & Lorintine Miller & david Bitterly ... and that the persons named by pursued for the arrest and punishment ...." The document is then signed by each member of the jury. VG.
