A pair of Harper’s Weekly newspaers, February 6, 1875 and October 14, 1876, each 16pp., disbound, VG. Also, each issue has a stinging Thomas Nast political cartoon showing the brutality of the Klan. In the February 6th issue, the cartoon covers 1/6 of the back page, titled “Target” shows the Klan in the background shooting at an unarmed Black man while another is prone on the ground. Then, in the October 14th issue, the cartoon also covers 1/6 of the back page, titled “The Christian Turks, Reforming colored voters South,” shows the armed and hooded Klansman with several Black men laying on the ground.
