From the interior “Alleged Fugitive Slaves in Ohio - Illegal Arrest and Rescue,” running 1/2 column. In part, “"Our city was thrown into intense excitement last evening by an attempt to arrest two negro men, two negro women, and several children on board the steamer Arrow ... the women and children were forcible dragged on shore ...a number of both blacks and whites had clubs in their hands ...Mr. Sloane turned to the colored people ... the entuire asembilage rushed the door ... the fugitives ... took a sail boat for Canada ...”
