Raleigh, N.C., 1862, 144pp., 4pp. index, bound in with “Infantry Tactics or Rules of the Exercise and Manuevers of Infantry”, by Major General Scott, Raleigh, 1862. There is a pencil owner’s identification “W.J. Ellis, Wilmington, No Ca.” We find Wiley Jones Ellis of the NC 16th Battn Cavalry who died of disease as POW on 12/30/1864 at Elmira, NY. Also a 1989 Chapel Hill rare Book (NC) invoice.
