Then, a lengthy and glorified article with a small front page engraving of “Aunt Charlotte - Our Old Cook,” who was formerly a slave. From the back page, a very strong political cartoon,”"A CONSISTANT NEGROPHOBIST" shows a drowning white man refusing the assistance of a black man, “What decent white man, do you suppose, is going to allow himself to be saved by a confounded Nig___”
