A complete and authentic issue of Frank Leslie’s Illustrated, September 19, 1863, 16pp., disbound, VG. Fascinating front cover. First a short order signed in type by Q.A. Gillmore states in part, “ ... Having found it necessary to employ W.T. Crane, (Frank Leslie’s artist) to make sketches of the progressive demolition of Fort Sumter ....” Then just below, a 2/3 page engraving titled “Siege of Charleston - The Swamp Angel Opening on Charleston - From a Sketch by our Special Artist, W.T. Crane.” Then from the interior, a full page engraving “Birdseye View of Chattanooga From Lookout Mountain.”
