Autograph Letter Signed, Elijah R. Robinson, 38th New Jersey Infantry, 4p. octavo, pencil, with cover addressed to his sister, it reads in part: “...the peace question is about played out. That [?] President - Stevenson would come to no terms but to recognize the independence of the Southern Confederacy. I think the commissioners that met him fro mthe North sought to have hung immediately. Rumor also says that Fort Darling the main fortification of Richmond has fallen in our hands...” Fine.
