War-date Union soldier's letter, 2pp. folio, written by Sgt. Moses M. Ordway, 40th Mass. Vols., Chesapeake Genl. Hospital, [Fortress Monroe, Va.], June 11, 1864 to his brother, in part: "…I stopped in Baltimore a few days but did not see…Dr. Hurd. I suppose he has got home by this time as the Convention broke up last Thursday…they have nominated Lincoln. I left Philadelphia last Tuesday. While I was there there was a lot of the old Regts came home. They were well received…M. M. Ordway…". The original transmittal cover is also included. VG
