War-date Union soldier's letter, 1p. 8vo., written by Corp. George P. Jarvis [WIA Perryville, Ky., Oct. 8, 1862], (signed Geo.), Co. C, 3rd Ohio Vols., "on board steamer Heaven dell at Mouth of Cumberland, April 13, 1863," in part: "…we arrived here last night and are coaling now. Will start…for the Tennessee River. We landed a part of the force above Ft. Donelson yesterday. They are to proceed overland to Ft. Henry (twelve miles) and we are to join them at the latter place…". VG
