A great Abraham Lincoln Presidential related Frank Leslie's Illustrated newspaper, New York City, March 9, 1861, 16pp. large fold-out folio, honoring the newly elected president with a detailed article outlining his journey from Springfield to Washington, D. C. containing a large 16" x 25" (when folded out) beardless portrait of Abraham Lincoln, a view of his appearance at Independence Hall, Philadelphia, and several views of the interior of his Springfield home. The description of the centerfold portrait boasts, in part: "…on the eve of the Presidential Inauguration we present …the only correct portrait…to the public of Abraham Lincoln…it will be conceded by all to be unequalled in excellence and truthfulness. The elegant border…contains a series of spirited sketches illustrating incidents in the life of President Lincoln and his father." Interestingly, Jeff Davis' portrait appears on the front cover with a contemporary pencil addition indicating that he is the: "First [and last] President of the New Southern Confederacy."
